“Education is a great engine of personal development. It is through education that a daughter of a peasant can become a doctor; that the son of a mineworker can become the head of that mine, that the child of farm workers can become the leader of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one from another.”

As for me, I always knew I had one weapon which no one can ever take away from me – he made me after all, my God. And as my mother always told me, “you’ll always have your books.”
After long periods of sleepless nights, waking up in the middle of the night when everyone was nicely tucked in, the day had come! The nights were always so silent that you could hear a pin drop. Every time I talked to God, I’d tell him that if he won this for me, I would glorify his name with the light that he shines upon me.
He did just that on the 14/Aug/2008. I woke up in the morning, looked to the heavens and said, “Lord, let your will be done.” I said this because I knew His will for my life is great and he wants the best for me. I always believe that it was He that gave me breath and He sure is determined to use it.
Before that morning, I always knew this night would come. I always somewhat dreaded it, but I knew it was to be a stepping stone to what God has prepared for me.
After breakfast, I went to get my results. I did not look at them until I got back home. When I did get home, the first thing I did was to log onto the UCAS web page which was to show me the status of my university offers. As I opened it, I chanted Psalms 23 to myself out loud. Each sentence that was said came with a louder BOOM!! In my chest until I said, “Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” The page opened and it said, “Congratulations, your place at University of Brighton to study physiotherapy has been confirmed.
I jumped with joy and screeches as I gave thanks to God for standing by me in this battle and winning it for me. I remember saying to myself, “There surely is a God!”
I would like to bless you with these words which I found in the Holy book yesterday.
“Of course my brother, I really do not think that I have already won it: the one thing I do, however, is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead. I run towards the goal in order to win the prize, which is God’s call through Christ Jesus to the life above. All we do is for God’s glory.”
God loves you and has big plan for your life. Soften your heart and let him reach out to you.
