The first tender Worldwide Sustainable Biomass resulted in ten approved projects for an amount of 4,7 million euro. This Dutch fund supports developing countries in converting their traditional production of biomass for energy into more durable and sustainable methods. The certification of durable biomass plays an important role and improves the access to the local or international energy market and herewith raises the standard of living.
The focus is on projects in Indonesia, Vietnam, Colombia, Nicaragua, Mali, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, and South Africa.
There are two tenders for a total of 12,5 million euro, remaining 7.8 million euro for the second tender.
In the first tender were 23 applications of which 10 were approved
